A PERSONAL REFLECTION
Terroir, ORIGIN,
and identity
The Hautes-Côtes vineyard is located in the “back country,” parallel to the Côte de Nuits, on the plateau.
The numerous small valleys with well exposed hillsides, generally to the south and southeast, are excellent for vine growing.
The climate of the Hautes-Côtes is a little harsher than that of the Côte; the air circulates more freely through the valleys and hills, with temperatures sometimes dropping to -15°C.
However, the climatic conditions are very favorable to vine growing, as the exposure compensates for the influences of the altitude.
