BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR
"Cuvée Sapidus"
The word “sapidus” comes from sapid, which is Latin for “flavor.” A sapid wine, which demonstrates sapidity, is a wine that has flavor and an attractive bouquet.
Viticulture has been established in Bourgogne since antiquity, and this testifies to the expansion of Roman culture throughout northern Gaul. Numerous archeological clues show the presence, in the Côte d’Or, of this new culture of the vine and wine.
Also known as Bourgogne Rouge, this wine typically presents a medium-intensity color that varies with the vintage. Often tinged with purple in its youth, it quickly opens up to reveal a broad palette of red fruit aromas.
Its structure—defined by supple texture and moderate tannins—makes it enjoyable young, offering both elegance and varietal character.

A PERSONAL REFLECTION
Terroir, ORIGIN,
and identity
This cuvée comes from a parcel recorded under the lieu-dit “Les Plantes”, located east of the Clos de Vougeot, just beyond the enclosing wall and Route 974.
The vineyard lies on the alluvial fan of the Combe d’Orveaux, where limestone pebbles and gravel, eroded from the hillside, mix with more clay-rich soils. This stoniness promotes excellent drainage. The east–southeast exposure also ensures generous sunlight.
These natural conditions give this plot its distinctive identity and high-quality terroir—qualities we invite you to discover in the glass.
