Premier Cru "En Orveaux"
Thanks to its excellent exposure, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru “En Orveaux” shows deep ruby color and aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant, and raspberry.
Its richly perfumed bouquet and full-bodied structure give it a style that is both silky and masculine. With both freshness and roundness, it can hold its own among other Premier Crus from Vosne-Romanée, offering sensual vinosity and wonderful balance.

A PERSONAL REFLECTION
Terroir, ORIGIN,
and Identity
In Bourgogne, many lieux-dits end in -vaux, -veaux, or -val—terms that refer to dips or valleys in the land.
This Premier Cru from Vosne-Romanée is a perfect example, and it’s always worth looking into the meaning of the prefix. In 1780, the terrier (land register) for the Seigneuries of Clémencey listed the name as “Or – veaux.” Could it have once meant a “Val d’Or”—a golden valley?
